Meet a few members of our Direct Action Circle, who live and breathe communal care, and are teaching and learning the skills needed to prevent/survive collapse. Contrary to popular belief, those skills aren't just foraging for food and bandaging wounds. Direct action is as much about emotional support and mutual aid as anything else. Appalachian Community Meal Project

At ACM we recognize more than charity is needed to remedy the systemic failure that plagues this region with its mechanisms of poverty and oppression. We facilitate third spaces for folks to gather and (re)learn the value of community through the lens of reciprocity.

From community potlucks, to harm reduction and women’s healthcare, to resource fairs and housing programs, we revive the pragmatic grit and humanitarian spirit of Appalachians.
