Appalachian Community Meals and Mutual Aid is an IRL organizing effort to reorient folks with the concept of mutual aid by exemplifying collaboration vs. competition, abundance vs. scarcity and community vs. hyper-individualism.
Appalachian Community Meal and Mutual Aid is helping folks relearn how to live as a community through the lens of mutual aid. By serving free, nutritional and preference-diverse meals, we bring otherwise strangers of the same town together to share a table and get to know their neighbors, fostering a space for relationships and resource sharing to abound. A.C.M. is building a robust network of non-institutional resources and access points to form a Mutual Aid Resource Center that will prioritize the most marginalized while still managing to serve the community as a whole.
