Project Description

Appalachian Community Meal and Mutual Aid is helping folks relearn how to live as a community through the lens of mutual aid. By serving free, nutritional and preference-diverse meals, we bring otherwise strangers of the same town together to share a table and get to know their neighbors, fostering a space for relationships and resource sharing to abound. A.C.M. is building a robust network of non-institutional resources and access points to form a Mutual Aid Resource Center that will prioritize the most marginalized while still managing to serve the community as a whole.

Key Features

      • – no barriers to access resources and support
      • – agitates, educates and organizes effective action
      • – builds community resilience
      • – empowers individuals in vulnerable positions to self-advocate in the workplace, rental market, personal life, etc.

Project Needs

      • – volunteers, both local and abroad
      • – resources (occasionally posted on the A.C.M. Facebook page)
      • – donations/funding (all finances are kept ready to share, as we firmly believe in transparent practices)

If you feel inclined to give, please be sure to leave a note on your PayPal transaction for funding allocation. “ACM” Thank you!
